Safeguarding in Our School

At Newton Hill School we are commited to Safeguarding at all levels.

All Staff understand and adhere to the Safeguarding Policy to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all at Newton Hill Community School.

We aim
  • to ensure that children within our school feel safe at all times
  • to ensure that all stakeholders are safe and feel that they are able to put the welfare of the children first
  • to ensure that all adults who have contact with children in school have been properly vetted and cleared as suitable to work and support children in our care/charge.
  • to ensure that all adults who have contact with children in school have been trained to undertake their safeguarding responsibilities effectively.
As your child gets older it’s likely they’ll want a bit more independence. Going out without you is a natural step for them to take when the time is right. We can help you work out when your child is ready and, most importantly, help you to keep them safe. Please see links below for advice and information.
Operation Encompass
We are an Operation Encompass school.

The school continues to work as an Operation Encompass School and the service has been extended to include children who are in Nursery settings. Operation Encompass is a service that works with Wakefield Council and West Yorkshire Police to support children who are living in households where there are incidents of domestic violence and abuse.
