Welcome
Newton Hill
Junior, Infant and Nursery School is a traditionally designed school with
seven classrooms and a Foundation Unit offering education for around 230
children aged between 3 and 11 years old.
The school is on the northern side of the city of Wakefield, on the main A61
Leeds Road, and draws children from the surrounding houses of Newton Hill and
several other nearby areas.
Our Foundation stage has places for full and part-time children. The Junior
and Infant children are organised into six classes of mixed abilities and, in
some classes, mixed age groups. There is a central library, a group
activities room, baking room and an ICT Suite for the use of all the
children. The school has extensive grounds, playing field, a wildlife garden
and hard playgrounds.
In 1995 a large assembly /PE hall was built on site, which offers excellent
facilities for music, gymnastics, dancing and dining. In July 1999 the school
continued to expand with the building of a new classroom. The expansion
continued in 2002 with another new classroom being built.
