General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Many of you may have noticed that there is a change in Data Protection law approaching called GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). The new regulation is about protecting people in the modern information age. It gives more control to individuals and more responsibilities to organisations which collect and hold your data. As a result many companies may have started to ask you to check your privacy settings and consent.

As a school we hold a lot of personal data and as such have to comply with these regulation changes. We already keep your data securely and have strict data protection policies but we are investigating ways that we can improve security and provide greater transparency. This will mean that we will be introducing updated policies for our data protection in the coming months and we may re-ask for your consent for specific activities e.g. use of children’s images. As we make these changes we will keep you updated through the normal communication channels.
